Cheltenham

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A successful dance was held by the Women’s Institute on Friday night. The function was arranged by the junior members. The hall was decorated and the new staging for the orchestra was in use for the first time. There were several novelty dances and a competition which was won by Mrs. Trower. Miss T. Corkill was M.C. Some non-dancers indulged in cards while others took advantage of the comfortably arranged stage to view the dancing. Many visitors were present from the surrounding districts. Home Guard Football The first football match to be playod in. Cheltenham for six years took place on Saturday when a team from the local unit of Home Guard met a team from the Iviwitca unit. Great interest was displayed at the aerodrome. The visitors gained the victory by 15 points to nil but the game was keenly contested from the start and from the onlookers’ point of view, was a fine game. Ping Pong

On Saturday night the Cheltenham Ping Pong Club held a successful handicap tournament when the men’s section was won by 'N. Anderson and the ladies’ section by Miss M. Mills.
