Feilding Presbyterian Church
ST. PAUL’S ANNUAL REPORT The annual report of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, Feilding, records that the Presbytery Commission had found that the work of gospel ministry was being worthily maintained. Satisfaction is recorded at the continued good attendance at tho morning services, but no improvement is recorded in the attendances at tho evening services. Tho session feels that larger attendances in tho evening could and should be maintained in Feilding. During the year the church was delighted to welcome the distinguished missionary, Rev. G. H. McNeur, whose visit was availed of to present Mr. A. C. Buist (Sunday school superintendent) with a framed assembly certificate for 40 years’ service with the young people. During the year 21 communicant members were re-
ceived into the church aud 11 by certificate from other congregations. There had been 16 disjunctions and three removals by death, leaving the roll at the end of the year at 270. The attendances at the quarterly communion services were 140, 148, 119 and 134. The minister had conducted 25 baptisms, 22 marriages and IS funerals. The session extended its sympathy to all members and adherents who had suffered bereavement, while special sympathy was extended to parents and relatives who had lost sons in the war. The report records tho loss sustained in the passing of the late Mr. Hugh Mclntyre, who was a very esteemed elder over many years. The managers’ report, dealing with tlie finances of the church, records that the income, including a balance carried forward, amounted to £705 14s 4d and the expenditure £674. 12s lid, leaving a credit balance of £3l 0s sd.
