Daily tons of shipping are lost by enemy sinkings. \Y hat of tho brave seamen who risk their lives, often lose 'their all in these sinkings? Tho Seamen’s Mission at the nearest port recommissions and outfits these unfor- | tunatc victims; the Seamen's Mission l acts as a *kind mother to sailors the world over, irrespective of rank or creed. On Thursday a Merchant Navy Street Day collection will bo taken in Palmerston North and a subscription list has been opened so that citizens may make donations to the fund.
