The attention of mombers of the Oroua Bowling Club is drawn to the ; notice of the annual meeting being held j this evening in the secretary's office. I Following on his retirement from the legal firm of Messrs Graham and Keod, of Feilding, Mr. H. J. Harper was recently met by a number of the firm's clients and presented with a cheque as a token of goodwill and friendship- Mr. j XV. McKay, of Apiti, made the presentation on behalf of the gathering and Mr. Harper feelingly replied. “We are engaged in a war to pro- 1 serve a particular way of life —a way of life that allows for change and looks i for betterment but does not desire to maintain any special monopoly or privilege for ourselves," states tne annual report of the Feilding -Sub-Centre of the Red Cross Society, presented at last evening's annual meeting. “That way | of life has brought us out from barbar-! ism and set us towards a reasonable and humane existence. Our task must be to bring that way of life to the people of all nations who are our brothers and sisters everywhere." j
