All Saints’ Children’s Home Committee
The monthly meeting of the ladies’ committee of All Saints’ Children’s Home Avas held at tho home on Thursday. Canon G. Y. Woodward presided, others present dicing Mesdames C. Akers, N. Blackniore, A. E. Mansford, T. R. Moore, A'. T. Nichols, W. Phillips, Misses K. Owtram and B. Robinson. There were apologies from Mesdames H, G. Bagnall, W. F. Field, C. Louisson, A. Martin, G. Y. Woodward and Miss R. J. Whyte (secretary). * Tho matron reported that, except for a feAV colds, the children were all well. The children were very happy to be present at the Avelcomo to Sir Cyril and Lady Nevvall on Wednesday to see Mr. Callis receive his medal. A vote of sincere sympathy Avas extended to Miss Whyte and best Avishes Avere extended to her for a speedy recovery. It is hoped that the good people of Palmerston North and surrounding districts Avho are giving so freely and generously to the guilds working for refugees overseas will not forget our OAvn children. The cupboards of clothing are getting very low.
The committee Avish to thank tho following for their gifts to the home:— Aokautere harvest, Billy and Shirley, potatoes; Mrs. Perfect, shoes; A.N.A. Club, bread, corned beef and cakes; West End Ladies’ Circle, cakes and sandwiches; Mrs. Bust, books and papers; All Saints’ Sunday School, Foxton, toys, books, etc.; Mrs. Perfect, clothes; Manawatu Meat Co., meat and sausages; Mrs. Nichols, dripping; Rush and Co., firewood; Paddy, Ltd., meat; West End Ladies’ Circle, sandwiches and cakes; Mr. Pratt, hairdressing; Larsen, Ltd., cream; Soldiers’ Club, sandAviclics; anonymous, cabbages.
