From the Hub
Dear Cogs,—This has been a great week for the city dweiiers, you will all agree, and particularly for our young people who took such ) a prominent part in welcoming our new Governor-uenerai and xus good lady. What a thrill is was for our Guides and Scouts, Brownies and Cubs! After hearing his Ex- « cellency’s remarks about Scouting 1 and Guiding I feel sure those of , you who have not known the joy of « these activities will be doing every- r thing possible to join up. It will t be for you young people to tidy up i the poor old world that is being so t badly mishandled everywhere and how can you possibly do such a big job unless you start early to train i for good “citi*en3hip?” I thought the Governor-General ’ s speech was the nicest speech I have ever heard a Governor-General give to children—it came from his heart. He did give you an ideal to live up to x and we in our small way as Companions of Gratitude are trying also to fit ourselves to make the best contribution for the common good. Thank you, Miss 1941 and Puck, for peggy squares. Soon we < shall have enough for another quilt. Please, Big family, don’t be late £ with letters and do write them clearly. I wonder how many of you notice the corrections that have to be made in spelling! Love from, your friend, < THE HUB. <
