Airliner Lands on Beach
CHRISTCHURCH, July 8. Owing to low fog over Harewood Aerodrome, the Union airliner Kaka, Dunedin, landed on the Brighton beach this morning. The machine was over Harewood 15 minutes ahead of schedule, but the aerodrome was so obscured that Comander A. G. Gerrand decided to make a landing on the beach, where visibility was excellent.
As the fog continued at Harewood, the passengers were taken to Brighton by car, and the machine took off at 11.30 a.m. for Wellington and Auckland.
