Miner Killed by Fall of Coal

INVERCARGILL, June 17. About midday to-day Charles Hazeldine, a miner employed in the Alount Linton mine at Ohai, was killed by a fall of coal. He and a mate were working on the pillar and head coal when without any warning about half a ton of coal fell from the “lift.” Hazeldine received a fractured skull but his mate was untouched though standing just beside him. Air. Hazeldine is survived by a grown-up family.
