NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP TRIALS The North Island clay bird championship will be decided on th# Palmerston North Gun Club’s grounds on June 14, and during the week-end members of the home club competed in a series of sweepstakes under championship conditions. The first one (10-bird off open marks) was won by F. Seivert with a possible, E. Sargent being runner-up with nine breaks. The second resulted in a tie, F. Seivert, E. Sargent and C. Wiffen each breaking the possible. The honours of the third were taken by F. Farmer with nine breaks, K. H. Scott, W. A. Thomson and C. Wiffen tieing for second with eight breaks apiece. The concluding event was a doublerise of five pairs and E. Sargent, W. A. Thomson and C. Wiffen tied with seven breaks apiece.
