Dear Hub, —I think this was the easiest Skilltest we have had for many a Saturday. Warm log fires are what everybody needs this cold weather for it is bitterly cold. I think your Autumn Page was a little late this year for I should say it is more like winter than , autumn. The war is not too good at present but we will be on top in a very short time. My brother who is working up near Auckland has been milking 95 cows and is now going on to another with the same people with 150 cows. He likes milking, doesn’t he? The gardens look lovely with all the different flowers out. Our chrysanthemums make the best show in ours at present. Lots qf love to the Den and the rest of your big family. Elf. Brother is certainly doing his bit, isn’t he? I love chysanthenmni time, don’t you? Woodville. Dear Hub, —On Friday night I finished an apron which I made for myself. I have now started another one which was givon to me for my birthday. My birthday was on May 5 and I had my birthday party on the third. I am on holiday at my Auntie’s place and my cousin, Donald, has whooping cough. My mother is ill and has something like measles. Yesterday I cycled out on Auntie’s bicycle to see her. When Mummy is better she is going ou a holiday to Napier with a friend so that the salt sea air will make her strong again. For Mother’s Day I gave Mum a Woman’s Weekly aud some Lux soap. During the flood our farm did not suffer although there were many places near our farm which were hidden by water. Best of luck. Busy Bee. You are certainly Busy Bee. I do hope your mother will soon be well. Bunnythorpe. Dear Hub,—We have all had colds at our place. Poor Daphne has just had the munips. She might be coming down on Tuesday, that is if her sister doesn’t get them. So if she comes down I will get her to write to the Page. Her brother, Ray, is still in the hospital. He has been there for about 2i months now. The floods were awful, weren’t they? I had a look at the water around Hokowhitu. We did not get any of the flood out hero at Bunnythorpe, thank goodness. For the Skilltest on Saturday, could we have a jumbled up fruits and vegetables, please, Hub? My sister,, who lives in Taihape, has a baby girl. I have six nieces and one nephew now so I am lucky. I have been weeding the rose garden but I have finished it now. I think it is lovely Bonnie Bluebell having twin daughters. Best wishes to the Cogs and Hub, from your true Cog, Bubbles. You must be a proud Auntie! At the end of so many months we give prizes to a certain number at the top of the marks’ list. Feilding. Dear Hub,—l expect you have been very busy seeing Cogs who come to visit while on their holidays. On Thursday I went to Dannevirke with my father who went to the sale. It is a very nice little town, I think. Have you been there, Hub? If so, I think you will probably agree with me. The Park is really very picturesque and in the aviary were birds which I had never seen before, also three guinea-pigs in the section with some finches, which are very pretty little birds. Lovo to you and the Cogs. From Magpie. Yes, Magpie, I do agree witn you. Thank you for the peggy squares. Shannon. Dear Hub, —I suppose you are thinking I am not going to write any more but, however, I look at the Page and have enjoyed them very much. Well, here is our holiday half gone, we did not go away this time but my brother and I and other boys have had great fun with a trolley wo have made. I have had a painful time with a stiff neck but can join in tho holiday fun again. I take out orders for Dad in a 3-wlieel bicycle and if one is not careful one would tip up. Your Cog, White Wolf. I am sorry you have been on the sick list, White Wolf. It is nice that you make yourself helpful. SAMMY SNAIL Sammy is a snail, and so Ho takes his house behind him. He leaves a little silver trail To show where I can find him. He is the quaintest, little chap, r I know without a doubt. Ho has two tiny horns which he Can wriggle in and out. His house is brown and rather like A little, round, striped tent; It must be rather jolly Not to have to pay your renl! Now Sammy is a friend of mine, But Daddy’s not so keen, ’Cos Sammy’s meals aro our young plants— He likes them small and green! A fellow has to eat, of course, And Sammy’s only small, But his relations are many And he go.es and brings them all! W —Sent in by P.oppy Queen, 3

' Thank you for the peggy squares. Apiti. Dear Hub, —This year I have hardly been at school at all because I have had munips and whooping cough.
