Patea’s Precautions Great progress has been made with the scheme for the evacuation of Patea should an emergency arise. Transport arrangements are completed. Wardens have delivered a card to each household giving directions as to what car will accommodate them, what articles it will be most necessary to take with them and which reception area they havo been assigned to. The organiser of the Women's Home Guard, ilrs. B .W. Haddow, stated at a warden’s meeting that under the scheme there was nothing to stop everyone being out of Patea within an hour.
