U.S. Civilian Defence

WASHINGTON, May 20. President Roosevelt has established the office of Civilian Defence Agency, of which there are two divisions.

The first is the Board of Civilian Protection, comprising representatives of the War, Navy and Justice Departments, and other bodies, with the Mayor of New York (Mr. La Guardia) us

chairman. It will advise and assist in formulating civilian defence measures in an attempt to provide adequate protection of life and property in the event of an emergency.

The second division will be a volunteer participation committee comprising about 20 representatives of various regions of the nation’s interests.
