Cost of Living in Britain
(British Oflicial Wireless.) Received Wednesday, 9.20 p.m. RUGBY, May 20. Tho official cost of living index figure is 100 points above the level of July, 1914, compared with 98 points on April 1. For food alone the index figure is 71 points above the level of July, 1914, compared with 70 points on April 1, the rise being due to an increase in the prices of clothing and clothing materials partly due to the effects of the purchase tax.
