West End School

Mr. G. Tremaine presided at a meeting of the West End School Committee. Also present were Messrs. A. W. Just, E. JR. Humphries, J. Dalziell, A. E. Penfold and J. W. Davis. The Wanganui Education Board wrote asking the committee to appoint a member of the Intermediate School Committee and Mr. Tremaine' was appointed. Mr. Davis was appointed secretary in placo of Mr. H. M. Rough. The report of the headmaster (Air. H. W. Jackson) stated that the roll number was 408. The attendance was low owing to the prevalence of mumps. The appJes-iu-school scheme was working smoothly. The school had been visited by Dr. Body (medical officer), Messrs. Blake and Crosby (inspectors), and Mr. Billbrough (agricultural instructor).
