Owing to the municipal elections on Saturday there will not be any parade of the Feilding Home Guard. ’ The death is announced in Sydney of Mr. S. E. Dutliie, oldost brother of Mr. Alfred Duthie, of Feilding. The friends of Sergeant E. G. Edwards witTT/e pleased to learn that cabled advice has been received in Feilding that he is safe and well. Petty Officer D. C. Bell has returned to Auckland after spending leave as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Allen, Denbigh Street, Feilding-, while Mr. and Mrs. Allen’s sons, Jack and Gordon, have also returned to the Navy after spending leave with tlieir parents. Members of St. Paul’s Church Bible Class, Feilding, met on Tuesday evening to farewell Noel Betley who is joining the Navy. A presentation of a shaving compact was made to the guest by Mr. H. Reynolds, who on behalf of the gathering extended good wishes to Mr. Betley. “The Kev. A. L. Dixon and Mr. T. Pagan also spoke while Messrs. B. McLeod, I. Brown and Miss N. McDowall added good wishes on bohalf of their respective sections.
