Utuwai

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mother’s Day was celebrated by Utuwai children. Under tho leadership of the older ones, Margaret Smith, Eilene and Peter McEwen, an enjoyable programme was conducted. Two small boys, Barrie McEwen and Terence O’Hagan presented seven mothers aud two grandmothers. A minute’s silent tribute to mothers who have sacrificed sons in the war and to mothers who have passed away was observed. Mrs. C. J. Roberts, of Piri Piri, on behalf of all present, voiced the appreciation felt for the children’s homage so beautifully expressed in their music and poetry. Afternoon tea was served by the girls.
