Miss O. McKeany, relieving teacher, has returned to Palmerston North.

Miss May French who is nursing in Wellington, and Mr. T. B. French from the Trentham Camp, have been spending the week-end with, their mother, Mrs. A. M. French. Mr. D. R. Dallison, of Otari, who has been appointed permanent teacher to the local school, together with Mrs. Dallison, took up their residence here last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. R. Stuart, of Feilding, are visiting “ Linkfield." Miss Valerie Entwisle and Master Bruce Entwisle are staying with Mr. and Mrs. A. Whitehead, Kimbolton. Mrs. P. C. Rutherford is staying with her cousin, Mrs. J. Williamson, Taonui. Gunner R. Jaggard, of Papakura Camp, is spending his leave at his home. Miss Joan Stewart is camping at Paraparaumu with the Girls S.C.M. Camp. Private I. H. Old was home for the week-end from Trentham Camp. Owing to the local Home Guard attending the parade in Feilding on Saturday there were few golfers on the links. The following is the draw for the Rose Bowl and Etna Cup competition to be played next Saturday:—Mrs. Stewart and Miss N. Old; Mrs. Short and Mrs. Corpe; Mrs. Old and Mrs. Wither; Miss J. Stewart and Mrs. Stephens; Miss R. Stewart and Miss Coggin; Miss Williamson and Mrs. Blue. The following is the draw for the Bennett Cup medal round to be played by the men:—J. Old aud F. Ackerman; D. Old and G. Coggin; J. Wither and C. Corpe; I. McLean and A. Smith; D. Blue and J. Stewart; B. Woollams and R. French; R. Hitchman and J. Strickland; N. Short and T. Jones. The draw for the week-end:—• D. Old and J. Old; J. Wither and F. Ackerman; I. McLean and G. Coggin; D. Blue and C. Corpe; E. Woollams and A. Smith; R. Hitchman and J. Stewart; N. Short and D. French; J. Strickland aud T. Jones. A well represented meeting of householders took place last week to discuss the E.P.S. Various committees were formed. Mr. J. Stewart was elected delegate to attend the meetings at Kimbolton. The men’s committee is as follows: —Messrs. S. Small, D. Old, R. Bowater, T. Entwisle and S. Viles. Ladies’ committee, Mesdames S. Small, A. M. French, T. Stewart, C. Corpe and A. Entwisle. The Emergency Precautions questionaire received considerable discussion.
