Ruahine Tramping Club
Mr. A. Zeinert was in the chair at the Annual meeting of the Ruahine Tramping Club. There was a fair attendance of members. In speaking to the annual report the president said that the club had recorded a successful year. With petrol restrictions the members could not travel further than 30 miles from Palmerston North, and this had somewhat restricted their activities. Mr. Zeinert also mentioned the damage to the hut at the Coppermine*. A motion—that the rule “that the Office of president be held by one person for not more than two years, but after being out of office for one year such person be eligible for re-election,’* be rescinded —was passd. Officers were elected as follow: Patron, Mr. L. H. Collinson; president, Mr. Zeinert; deputy-president, Mr. M. Gillott; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Thompson, A. M. Lascelles, C. C. Yates, P. Tilson, H. Gotlieb, R. Lawson, D. Milner and B. M. Harkness; secretarvtreasurer, M. N. Hat well; committee,
Messrs. H. Lush, B. McMurray, A. Cutler, C. Jones, N. Johanson, Mrs. M. Hatwell and Misses B. Stevens and I'. Howard; social committee, Miss F. Howard, Mrs. M. Hatwell and Messrs. A. Cutler and C. Jones; librarian, Miss M. Gulliver; custodian, Mr. H. Lush; photograph album, Mr. Zeinert; diary, Miss B. Stevens; auditor, Mr. D. Roche. The annual report stated that activities during the year have been well maintained and the membership was good. The following were on active service: Messr. W. Anderson, E. Allen, G. Arnott, D.
