More State Houses.
Preparations are now well advanced for the building of houses on the grounds of the former College Street School and tenders have already been let for the erection of five units to face College Street. The plans embrace 25 units on the whole area and Oxford Street, now a blind street leading from Ferguson Street to the rear of the grounds, is to be opened right through to College Street. Where their removal could not be avoided, trees have been taken from the College Street frontage, but others are to remain unless it is absolutely necessary for them to be taken out.
