“ The Reich Races to Ruin! ”

LECTURE IN FEILDING At the Majestic Theatre, Feilding, last Sunday evening, Mr. Donald H. VVatson, lecturer on world events in the light of prophecy, addressed a very attentive audience on the above topic. We read in Acts 17:26, 27 that “God hath determined the times of the nations, and the bounds of their habitation, that they might seek Him aud walk in His ways.” That being so, said the speaker, it is evident that Hitler will go no further than God has determined, and because of his principles aud methods he is doomea to failure, for w'e read further, “They that take the swtJrd snail perish by the Bword,” Matt. 26:52. “He that leadeth into captivity shall go kato captivity,” Rev. 13:10. He that telleth lies and worketh wickedness shall not be established,” Ps. 101:7; Prov. 12:3. Tho time will come, we are assured, when ‘ ‘ God will destroy those who destroy the earth,” Rev. 11:18.

Mr. Watson drew on numerous experiences of the past to illustrate these introductory, remarks, snowing that tne disasters which fell upon suen nations as Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, MedoPersia, Greece, Rome, and tho Jews, whoso high ideals became obscured by selfishness will as surely fall upon nations to-day, who serve self instead of God. Tho outworking of despotic, enslaving, liberty-curtaaiug Pagan principles, renewed to-day in the dictatorships, is vlviuiy demonstrating the value of unselfish democratic lioerty giving principles of true Christianity, which will eventually govern the entire universe. Therefore, as the history of nations speaks to us to-day let us wisely heed the admonition of Solomon — “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter, fear God and keep His Commandments, for this is the whole duty of man, for God will bring every work into judgment with every secret thing, whether it be good, of whether it be evil,” Ecc. 12:13, 14.
