Labour Conference Move Considered Subversive (0.C.) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 7. Describing as subversive the action of 27 men who supported a resolution at the Federation of Labour conference asking the Government to withdraw from the war, the annual meeting of the South Taranaki Returned Soldiers’ Association agreed that the authorities rhould be asked to take action against the men under the war regulation* relating to subversive activities. “We have all seen reports that 27 men endeavoured to have a resolution passed asking the Government to pull out of the war,” said Mr A. K. Tyson. “If that is not subversive I do not know what it is. It is what is considered the worst crime in the army, letting your ‘cobbers’ down.”
