Winds: Northerlies to westerlies soon prevailing about and south of Cook Strait and becoming fresh in exposed positions; elsewhere fresh but decreas- j ing southerlies to south-easterlies. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough between Cook Strait and East Cape but moderating; moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh but decreasing southerly winds in the northern portion with sea,g becoming moder* ate; moderate to fresh northerly winds in the south with moderate but rising seas. Weather: Cloud increasing in Westland with scattered drizzle or rain de veloping from the south; elsewhere fair to fine with rising temperatures.
