Government Help Sought

OFFICIAL PARTY INSPECTS FLOOD DAMAGE As the result of activities taken yesterday by the Mayor (Mr. A. E. Mansforcl) through Mr. J. Hodgens, M.P., a Governmental party, comprising Hon. D. Wilson representing Cabinet, and Messrs. Taylor (Treasury) and Ball (Public Works) came to Palmerstcn North and inspected the flooded areas of the city, Te Matai and Raukawa Road. To-day, in company with Hon. J. G. Cobbe, M.P., they will inspect the Longburn area, which has suffered from the flood. There will then be a conference following which a report will be made to Hon. W. Nash, Minister of Finance, who will place before Cabinet the question as to whether financial assistance can be given these who have suffered losses.
