The Mayoral Election
MR. MANSFORD AT THE OPERA HOUSE The Mayor (Mr. A. E. Mansford) will open his campaign to-morrow (Thursday) night at the Opera House, when he will present his report on civic affairs, traversing the progress made by the city, during his occupancy of the Mayoral chair. He will outline his policy for the future and will welcome any question put by electors. A large attendance is anticipated. LABOUR CANDIDATE AT WEST END TO-MORROW EVENINO Much interest has been shown ia the advent of a Labour candidate to the Mayoral contest on May 17, and the attention of West End readers particularly is drawn to an announcement ia our advertising columns of the opening of Labour’s municipal election campaign on Thursday evening when Mr. G. R. Murphy, who is labour’s Mayoral candidate and who is well known to West End residents, will address eleafc* ors in the West End School-room at ft p.nn Mr. Murphy will be supported Labour's Council candidates, Mra Bennett, Mrs. Harrod, Mr. Salmons and Mr. J. Hodgens, M.P. Mr. Hodgens will chair the meeting and it is expected that there will be a record attendance of West End electors.
