Appeal Dismissed

Per Press Association. WANGANUI, May 6. The Wanganui District Committee today dismissed the appeal of J. H. Jofferd against the decision of the judicial committee of the AN anganui Jockey Club regarding the inquiry into alleged interference by Surveyor-General with Ivhurja inrf-ho Matarawa Hack Handicap at the Wanganui meetiug rt Awnpuni on April 5. The judicial committee decided that “Although there may have been crowding at the finish, it was unintentional on the part of Broughton, the rider of Surveyor-General, and after hearing evidence the committee decided j that the placings be left as Surveyorgeneral first, Khurja second.” The district committee found “That, the evidence before the district committee was not sufficient to disturb the finding of the judicial committee and the appeal is dismissed. The deposit of ’ £5 is to be refunded.” It is understood Jefferd intends to appeal to the Racing Conference.
