Mrs. A. Blakemore, of Gisborne, has been looking up old friends in the city. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Phillips, Palmerston North, are visiting Wairoa. j Mrs. It. H. Billens, College Street, has ' returned to Palmerston North after a visit to her mother in Wanganui. After a visit to Taihape, Miss Mary Matthews, Manapouri Crescent, has returned to Palmerston North. Misses Pamela Buchanan, of tlLockwood,” Kairanga, and Judith Copeland, Martin Street, leave on a visit to Christchurch this morning. Friends of Miss J. Green vrill be pleased to learn that she has now returned to Kairanga after recently undergoing two operations in a private hospital. Mrs. Alister Evans is expected to return to Palmerston No ih this week after a holiday of some weeks spent at Amber ley, Christchurch, Blenheim and Nelson. Miss Patricia Collier, of the nursing staff of the Karitane Hospital, Wanganui, was a week-end visitor to Feilding and was the guest of her aunt, Mrs. S. A. Parkes. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. C. Evans, West Street, Feilding, returned home at the week-end after some weeks spent with relatives at Amlberley, followed by a visit to Christchurch. Mrs. W. Whitehouse with her small son is staying with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Boon, Queen Street, for a short time before joining her husband in Wellington, to which branch of the National Bank he has been transferred. Miss Kathleen Moseley, house mistress and senior teacher of music at Wycombe Abbey School, one of the leading girls’ schools in England, has been appointed principal of Woodrord House, Havelock North, in succession to Miss D. M. Holland, who is to retire at the end of this year after 19 years as principal.
