Band Stimulates Morale

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 2. The opinion that the band of the New Zealand Air Force had a definite stimulating effect on the morale of the people, especially in the present difficult days, was expressed by Mr. R. H. Nirnmo, deputy-chairman of the Patriotic Council. Mr. Nimmo said that directly and indirectly this wonderful musical combination had been instrumental in raising for patriotic purposes approximately £30,000. Mr. Nimmo said that two years ago, when he visited Britain in connection with the Centennial Exhibition, ho had the privilege of receiving auditions from several military bands, and ho had no hesitation In saying that in his opinion the band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force had reached such a high standard of efficiency in such a remarkably short time that it was up to the standard of many of the permanent regimental bands in Britain.
