Mr. Blair Tennent at Takaro

Mr.- Blair Tennent addressed a fair audience at Takaro last evening, Mr. P. T. Jamieson presiding. The speaker summarised past activities and expounded his future proposals. Replying to a question concerning the Kawau drain, he said a joint committee had had the matter in hand and now that the Government grant had been made the desirable and long-delayed improvement should be effected in the future. A motion of thanks and confidence was irnesed. MR. TENNENT AT HOKOWHITU TO-NIGHT A large and representative audience is expected at Hokowhitu School tonight, when,Mr. Blair Tennent, candidate for the mayoralty, will take the platform. The speaker has a sound and atttractive xmbey and a good meeting is promised. Mr. H. W. Cox will preside.
