(From Our Own Correspondent.) j; Anzac Service n There was a large .attendance at the Anzac service. Ex-servicemen and Home Guard members who were on parade were piped in their march from the - hall to the memorial. Rev. Mr. Garner, ! of Palmerston North, who conducted the 4 service, delivered an inspiring address, ' and children of the Raugiotu and Bainesse Schools sang Kipling’s “Reces- * sional. ” Mrs. Hunter was pianist, and at the close of the service many wreaths were placed on the memorial. Sunday School Prize-giving Children of the Sunday School, with their parents and friends, spent an enjoyable afternooii last Saturday, when the annual prize-giving took place. Running races were held in the school grounds, after which the children received sweets and apples. Before afternoon tea, Rev. Mr. Martin distributed the prizes. Thanks were accorded the teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton and Mrs. Fawcett. Basketball The following girls will represent the two Rangiotu teams at the tournament to be held at Glen Oroua next Saturday: Misses K. Dixon, E. Gimblett, R. Larkin, H. Jepsen, J. Tennett, B. Fredric* son, A. Crouchman, L. Cook, L. BrookTaylor, P. .Sargisson, M. Hill, M. Thompson, D. Sargisson, N. Jacokson, P. Gimblett, F, Legge, E. Hunt, M. Pearson. All players are requested to be at their corners or gates at 12 noon. Personal Winners at the fortnightly euchre were: Miss P. Gimblett 1, E. Hunt 2; Mr. W. Scott 1, D. Jones 2. Mr. H. Jacobson has entered Trentham military camp. Mrs. Searancke has recovered sufficiently to leave hospital. Miss K. Dixon spent the week-end at Wanganui. Mr. H. Simmons will enter the Territorial camp at Wanganui to-day.
