Valuable New Drug The report from Chicago published on Saturday describing the very effective use of a sodium salt of sulphathiazole for the relief of chronic sinus trouble is described by Dr. J. Hardie Neil, of Auckland, as “real news,” He said that this compound was known in Auck land and was being put to go<*l use here, but the new feature of the report was its use as a nasal spray. That would seem well worth trying, particu larly as it would eliminate various other preparations that were being applied to the nose but- which were not actually effective. Drugs of the sulphauilamide group, to which sulpliathiazole belongs, have had wonderful results in reducing mortality from sinus trouble in America, Dr. Hardie Neil said, and they are also proving invaluable in the treatment of war woundo.
