Closing Day at Northern Croquet Club
Marking the close of the season, members of the Northern Croquet Club held a very pleasant I afternoon on Saturday last, the time being occupied With competitions, the presentation of the season’s trophies and afternoon tea. A kindly gesture on tho part of Mrs. AV. M. Tapp in presenting members of the committee with shoulder sprays, was much appreciated. Competition winners -were as follow: Pegging out, Mrs. McMurray; angles A Airs. Wilson; French, Mrs. Permain; golf, Mrs. Tapp. Wednesday competitions run during the season resulted: A grade, Mrs. 11. Brown; B grade, Mrs. Neilson; C grade, Mrs. Fairey. Following were the cup -winners: Beattie Cup ; Mrs. L. Wood; Laurie Clip, Airs. Brown; Simpson Cup, Airs. Burnett; Northern Cup, Airs. Neilson; Bryant Cup, Airs. D. J. Lovelock. Mrs. T. Simpson (president) presented tho trophies and voiced her appreciation of the success of the season’s activities and conveyed thanks to all who had rendered valuable assistance.
