Annual Appeal The appeal of the trustees of the H.B. Children's Homes to the residents of Hawke's Bay for funds to enable them to carry on their very valuable social work will this year be hold on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3. It is hoped that the .same generous help will be extended as in past- years,
Inspection by Dominion. Commander Last Wednesday evening MajorGeneral Young, C.B, C.M.G., D-'S.O., Ofiieor Commanding the Homo Guard in the Dominion, inspected tho Dan.nevirke battalion at their parade ground on the outer domain. The battalion marched post and wero addressed by MajorGeneral Young, who was loudly cheered at the conclusion of an inspiring speech. Almost 400 guardsmon were on parade.
