Radium in Rubbish
Radium valued at over £l5O is possibly lying in a portion of the city rubbish dump at fcjprevdon. A plaque of i radium is missing jtora the rooms of a city doctor and it is feared that the ' valuable metal was accidentally thrown out with the rubbish. The dump has ; been inspected an 1 the approximate ] spot where the radium may be has been ■ ] located. An electroscope from the Can- 1 1 terbury College will next be used to as-' / certain if the radiuip is present in the r dump. Should the presence of radium 1 be detected careful digging operations «. mill have to be undertaken. ii
