MORE WANTED FOR THE “BATTLE OF THE FLAMES” (British Official Wireless.) Received Sunday, 7 p.m. RUGBY, April 25. In connection with fire prevention in tho city of London an ordor has been made requiring cit} r workers between IS and 60 years to register for fire prevention duties in the city area. The order is necessary because there is a very small residential night population in the city of London. The Minister of Home Security today described tho “Battle of the Flames” at home as just as important as many an engagement in other theatres. The fire-fighters, ho said, were a mechanised army. He emphasised that the equipment was first-class and there was no shortage of it. The total fire strength in men and equipment was 15 to 20 times greater than normal for the whole country and up to 25 times greater in the “target areas. ”
