CONCERN OVER A.I.F.

(Rec. 22, 12.45) SYDNEY, April 22. The Sydney Morning Herald says that increasing concern over the position of the A.I.F. in Greece has prompted a number of members of the Federal Parliament to urge that Parliament should reassemble as soon as possible to enable members to hear from Ministers statements on the recent war developments. Simultaneously, says the Herald, the move is likely to be made to endow the Australian Advisory War Council with emergency executive powers for the period of the present war crisis. If this proposal were adopted. It would, in the opinion of some observers, provide the unified administration that is thought essential for the Commonwealth while it is facing the supreme crisis of its existence, and at the same time would overcome Labour’s prejudices against a National Government.
