Seven New Zealand Casualties in Air Warfare

ONE KILLED IN LONDON Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 21. The following list of casualties was officially announced to-day:— '■'*s!& Signalman James Netlsen Murphy R.N.V.R. (N.Z.), killed by enemy action in London. His father is Colonel J. Murphy, of Christchurch. Flying Officer Maxwell Stewart Ferguson, Fc.A.F., missing on operations. His mother is Mrs. M. Ferguson, of Auckland. Flying Officer Owen Edward Lamb, R.A.F., missing and believed killed on air operations. His uncle is Mr. W. G. Reid, of Ponsonby. Sergeant Thomas Geoffrey Webb, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported missing, now reported by the International Red Cross as missing and believed killed on operations. His father is Mr. J. H. Webb, of Auckland. Sergeant Douglas William Gough, RH.Z.A.F,, previously reported missing, now reported by the International Red Cross as missing and believed killed on operations. His father is Mr. W'. H. Gough, of Palmerston North. Pilot Officer James Edward Makgill, suffering from injuries believed not serious as a result of air operations. His mother is Mrs J. E. Makgill,, of Auckland. Pilot Officer James Le(On Wilkie, previously reported missing, now presumed killed in R.A.F., June, 1940; next-of-kin, mother, Mrs. A. N. Georgctti, care N.Z. House, London. Pilot Officer Wilkie was born at Perth in 1919 and educated at St. Patrick’s College, Silverstream. At the time of his appointment to a short service commission in January, 1939, he was residing at Fordcll.
