New Zealand, Australian and British Farces

MAY EVEN NOW BE IN ACTION LONDON, April 6. It was officially announced in London to-night that troops from Great Britain, Australia, and New Zealand were in Greece.

An official communique issued by the War Office states: “After the entry of German troops into Bulgaria had brought to a head the long-threatened crisis in the Balkans, his Majesty’s Government, in consultation with the Dominions, sent an army to Greece, including troops from Great Brftain, Australia and New Zealand, to stand in line with their brave allies in defence of their native soil. “The R.A.F., which has already been operating so successfully in Greece, has been strongly reinforced.” Whether our troops have already

been in action is not yet known, but it is clear that they have been there for some weeks. The War Office says that, before thq troops were sent to Greece, all the hazards were carefully weighed up in consultations between General Waved, General Dill, and the British Foreign Minister, Mr. Anthony Eden. The convoying of the army was one of the biggest jobs ever undertaken and was successfully carried out under the command of Admiral Cunningham, Com-mander-in-Chief of the Mediterranean Fleet.
