Festivity at Cheltenham

A popular social function was held in the Cheltenham Hall on Friday evening, arranged by members of the Cheltenham Tennis Club in honour of Miss Eileen Hill, who is to be married in the near future. A floral spray made by Mrs. T. Ireland was presented by little Valerie Anderson to Miss Hill. After a delightfully dainty supper had been served, Mr. E. Sinclair, speaking on behalf of members of the club and the large number of friends present, extended their good wishes for Miss Hill's future happiness and asked her, together with Mr. Stan Waugh, to accept an imposing array of gift parcels, also In card table from the tennis club. Mr. I Waugh acknowledged the good wishes and many material tokens of friendship. The evening continued with | dancing and the music contributed by ♦ Mr. Wright was excellent. A pleasing interlude was tap dancincg performed by Miss Phil Hancock, of Kimbolton, which drew* loud applause from the audience. Pianoforte extras were contributed by Miss Hancock and Mr. Hammond. The winners of the novelties were Miss J. Kenny and Mr. A. Scotland (spot waltz), Miss M. Sinclair (guessing) and the guests of honour the Monte Carlo. It was not until the early hours of the morning that this happy evening concluded with musical honours for the guests of honour.
