(From Our Own Correspondent.) Prior to their leaving the district Mr. and Mrs. W. Wright were the guests of honour at a send ofl? held in the Kuahine Hall last Saturday evening. Miss Margaret Carr presented Mrs. Wright with a bouquet, C. Hall, in asking Mr. Wright to accept a cheque, said the best wishes of the large -crowd present went with it. Opportunity was taken by Mr. W. Evans, on behalf of the ex pupils of the Ruahine school, to present Mr. and Mrs. S. Thompson with a cheque wishing them happiness and jprosperity in their married life. The evening took the form of a card tournament, after which the floor was cleared .for dancing to music supplied by Miss |H. Thompson with .extras by Messrs R. Thompson and Biliinghurst. The winners of the cards.>vqr.e:—Ladies, Mm W. Evans; consolation, Mrs. C. HalL Men’s. Mr. W. Sullivan; consolation, Mr. W. Evans. The spot waltz was won by Mr. L. Dawson and Miss J. Rose. I Mr. and Mrs. G. Williams, of Wellington. are the guests of Mrs. .T. Thompson Miss D. Collie. South Island, has re turned home after spending a short holiday with friends and relatives in this district. Private D. Bay well and B. Raywell N.Z.A.F., spent the week-end with friends in this district.
