ALL PURPOSES PATRIOTIC FUND APPEAL

Zone E Contributions Mount Up AFRO ACHING THE £BOOO MARK Still a long way short of the amount expected to be realised from the district for the All Purposes Patriotic Appeal Fund, Zone E s contributions are now approaching the £BOOO mark, thanks to me very material aid received from the country districts. Actually the fund up to yesterday stood at £77bo. Recent contributions included just over £37 from the recent patriotic sports meeting and just over £oo from Ine Foxtou i-u trio tie Committee, being proceeds from the sale of art union tickets for the house at Lower Hutt. Another handsome donation came to baud with the receipt of £SO from an anonymous supporter who expressed a realisation of me need for greater support to tliis £I,OUU,OOO appeal. He hoped that others would follow up with donations representing double wnat they had given in other appeals. The Zone is Expected to lind at least £1(3,000 before the end of the month and big all-round effort will be required if this objective is to be realised. The tickets for tho house raffle are still procurable at the office of the secretary or through any of the district patriotic committees. The house is valued at £2500 and tickets are for sale at Is. This art union will be drawn at thg end of May. 'Details of the latest donations are
