PLOUGH WAS IN DEMAND YESTERDAY With Don Quex, Wildfire, Last Acre and Premature away at Trentliam, only four of Awapuni’s first day Wellington team were on the tracks yesterday morning when the going on the course proper was hard. The plough was the popular track and there were a number of

interesting gallops. Kot.ua (L>. W. Redstone) sprinted seven and she maintained an even pace, finishing strongly to run the full distance in 1.34, the last five in 1.7 2-5. She is engaged in the Silverstreaw Handicap at Trentliam and L. G. Morris has her in really good order. Gold Bridge, looking fresh, with his trainer, C. Thomson, in the saddle was given good strong pace work. J. Chaplin will ride him in the Highweight at Trentham. Moradabad worked latex, she will be piloted by S. Anderson. Colonel Bogey (B. H. High Morale (E. Teniperton) has Stirling Lad (Anderson) over four on the course proper and there was not much between them at the finish, the distance being cut out in 54. Hunting Lore (Morris) and Clarion Call (Bedstone) were going easily together at the end of seven run in 1.3 G 3-5, and Tolagu (Auderson) came home in 42 3-5 in a similar task.

Cheetah (Temperton), under a good hold early, ran six in 1.21 4-5. Cheetah is improving.
