Crosby Comedy Gay Romance of South Seas

“WAIKIKI WEDDING” (Kosy: Coming on Friday.) Romance, Imanty and music in generous portions are provided in Paramount’s “Waikiki Wedding,” the gay comedy of love in the pineapple groves which comes to the Kosy Theatre next Friday. The romance is Detween OrosDy and i Miss lioss and, in Jignter vieu, Burns and Miss Kaye. Crosby is a press « agent whose job it is to keep Miss Ross, j who won a trip to Waikiki in a contest, i ; properly thrilled with the glamour of ; 1 the place. He has to resort to considerable trickery to accomplish this, but i being a resourceful press agent he is i : not short on ideas. He falls in love i with the girl and is reduced to the : necessity of undoing his trickery with ] honest romancing to win her. And he j had to do it pretty quickly what with i a steamer ready to whisk her away i from him forever. I The direction was skilfully handled j by Frank Tuttle who is thoroughly at home with this type of comedy. The j photography is beautiful and there are J a number of native ceremonial dances which will be long remembered, j The music is excellent. “Blue ; Hawaii,” “Sweet Is the Word For : You,” “In a Little Hula Heaven,” and “Okolehao, ” by the celebrated pair, Robin and Rainger, are in the big hit class.
