Kitchen Evening for a Bride-elect
Last Thursday evening Miss June Garnham, who is shortly to be married, wore a black and Marina ensemble at a kitchen evening given in her honour by Miss Barbara Farraher. The hostess, wearing a navy floral frock, received some 20 guests. Competitions, games and music provided plenty cl entertainment for the guests, and after a delicious supper tho bride-elect was called upon to open tho many useful gifts and briefly returned thanks. Soldiers’ Parcels Needed A request for 80 parcels additional to the 486 sent to Wellington recently for the overseas forces is being met by busy workers at the parcels depot at the Patriotic Shop this week under the direction of Mrs. S. G. Northey. Parcels comprise a generous selection from the following: —Writing pad and envelopes, soap, boracic powder, condensed milk, coffee and milk, gingernuts, barley sugar, fruit, handkerchiefs and cigarettes. A personal note to the recipient is enclosed in many parcels.
