A meeting of the committee of the Palmerston North A.N.A. Club was held yesterday, there being present Messrs. J. C. Young (in the chair), K. A. Henderson, A. Grigor, G. A. Eliott and Mcsdames A. E. Mansford, L. G. Northey, C. A. Small and D. Watson. An apology for absence was received rfom Mr. A. E. Mansford.
A letter was received from Mrs. N. V. Ballinger tendering her resignation on account of ill health. Mrs. Mansford moved that, because of the invaluable assistance that Mrs. Ballinger had been to the committee, her resignation should not be acepted, but that she be granted three months’ leave. The motion was carried.
Two letters were received from Mr. A. E. Mansford regarding the extension of the facilities now provided in the clubrooms. There are at present no means of providing supper or light teas in the building, and it was thought desirable to secure more rooms in the building and to install an electric plug. After thoroughly discussing the subject, a committee was appointed comprising Messrs. Young and Henderson and Mrs. Small, to negotiate with the Red Cross for tho use of the room at present occupied by fhat body. A report from Mrs. Northey on the work being done by the Y.W.C.A. was read, after which Mrs. Mansford moved that a vote of thanks to those responsible be recorded in the minutes.
