Pest Office Presentation
FAREWELL TO MR. B. OWEN At the close of business on Wednesday, memoers of the Post Office stall gathered to bid lareweil to Mr. B. Owen, who leaves on transfer to Gtsoorne. Speaking on behait of the stair, the postmaster (Mr. C. ts. Car rad) mentioned that Mr. Owen had been appointed to tne staff over two years ago when I'ahiaiua was elevated to a 1 eager office. During this time he had proved a valuaole member of the stair and would be ntuiseu, especially in the Savings Bank, section. With the best of good wishes in a larger office, Mr. Gnrrad presented an electric reading lamp and jug from the staff. Mr.—R. H. Taylor (supervisor) expressfd his many fhanKs tor co-opera-tion and help given by Mr. Owen in the Savings Buna activities ana also wisncd him success in his future at a larger office, where the scope would be greater. In reply, Mr. Owen appreciated very xuuck-the gifts and remarxs of previous speakers. He was glad that he had been ~&ble to have been of help in his particular work and was sure that the staff would have no difficulties in ledger work now that it was well established. He would always have pleasant memories of his stay in Pahiatua.
