Between 25,000 and 30,000 Prisoners

British Casualties Do Not Exceed 500 Received Monday, 11.30 p.m. MELBOURNE, January 6. A communique received to-day by Army Headquarters at Melbourne from General Blarney, commander of the Australian troops, read: “Capture of Bardia complete. Prisoners total between 25,000 and 30,000. Our casualties do not exceed 500.” The Prime Minister (Mr. R. G. Menzies), paying tribute, said: “Australia's sons have once more played their part triumphantly.” He requested that flags should be flown on public and other buildings to-day and to-morrow.
