Wedding at St. Columbkille’s, Woodville

GAVIN—SKINNER A marriage of particular interest to Woodville and Tauranga was solemn- | iscd at St. Columbkille’s Church, Woodville, on January 2 of Helen Alary, second daughter of Mr. and Airs. L. Skinner, Woodville, and Reginald James, elder son of Air. and Mrs. A. Gavin, Tauranga. The Rev. Father Caslunan celebrated Nuptial Mass and the wedding music was played by Airs. E. Hayes. The bride, ■who entered the church on the arm of her father, was gowned in deep cream taffeta poult, the skirt falling in graceful folds, sweeping to a long oval train. The neckline was heartshaped and the sleeves softly folded at the shoulder and fitted down to the wrists. The waistline caught in a wide corselet belt, featured the same heartshaped line of the bodice. Her veil of cream tulle was mounted by a spray of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of regale lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Aliss Winifred Skinner, who wore a frock of marquise gold satin taffeta poult made on similar lines to the bridal frock. She carried a sheaf of blue delphiniums and wore a spray of similar liowers in her hair.

The best man was Air. A. L. Skinner, brother of the bride, and tho usher was Air. V. Browne, of Dunedin.

The reception was held at the Alasonic Hotel, where the guests were received by the bride’s parents assisted by the bridegroom’? mother. Airs. L. Skinner wore a blacK model frock wiTTi hat to tone, and a shoulder spray of cream roses. The bridegroom ’s mother was attired in a cyclamen lloral frock and black sheer coat. She wore a black picture hat and a shoulder spray of cyclamen carnations. The Right Rev. Monsignor Alcßae, of Wellington, a cousin of the bride, presided at the reception which was attended by guests as far distant as Dunedin and Auckland.
