Wedding at St. David’s

REID—CLARK A pretty wedding of interest to Woodville residents took place at Rt. David’s Presbyterian Church recently, when Clara Isobel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Clark, Ngawapurua, was married to Malcolm Henry, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Reid, of Seatoun, Wellington. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. H. Nicholas and Miss Cora Curry played appropriate music at tho organ. Escorted at the ceremony by her father the bride was smartly dressed in a royal blue tailored suit, the coat buttoned up to high revers and the skirt having a plain front and knife-pleated back. She had grey accessories and wore a family heirloom, a diamond and sapphire bracelet. She carried a sheaf of lupins and carnations in shades of pale pink. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Christina Clark, who wore a smart air force blue costume with & white voile blouse trimmed with lace and she had navy accessories. She also wore a necklet, the gift from the bridegroom, and carried a posy of pink sweet peas, carnations and asparagus fern. The church had been decorated beautifully for the ceremony by friends of the brido and many of the flowers, among which some fine St. Joseph lilies predominated, came from the garden of Mr. F. J. Reid, Seatoun. The reception was held at the Ngawapurua Hall, tho tables being decorated attractively with multi-coloured sweet peas. The beautiful two-tiered wedding cake was made by Mr. Turnbull.

The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. J. W. Clark, the bride’s brother, and another brother of the bride, Mr. Alex Clark, was usher at tho church.

The bride's mother, Mrs. Bert Clark, was gowned in a tailored teal bluo costume and wore a beige coloured blouse and navy accessories and a shoulder spray of red Toses. The bridegroom’s mother wore a floral frock and a dusky pink swagger coat. She had blue accessories and wore a shoulder spray of pinlc polyanthus roses. For travelling the bride chose a floral frock, grey coat and accessories. The future residence of Mr. and Mrs. Reid will be in Wellington, the honeymoon being spent in Wanganui. The bouquets for tho wedding were made by Mrs. R. Harris .and Miss E. Harris. The young couple received many congratulatory telegrams and beautiful wedding presents.
