Greeks Improve All Positions

COMMAND OF ADRIATIC SEALS ITALIANS’ FATE LONDON, Jan. 1. The Greek radio stated: “/long the entire Driuos river sector, there has been a successful Greek advance of great importance and the Greeks are improving all their positions. Many prisoners have been taken, including officers. At Tepelene and Kilsura the Italians are unable to hold their posi« tions any longer. “The fate of the Italians is sealed by the fact that the Greek and British fleets have penetrated through the Adriatic. North from Himara, resistance has been completely broken, and many prisoners and much war booty taken. The Italians have not been permitted time to re-establish their lines and consolidate their positions ” According to latest reports from the Albanian front, the Greeks have accelerated their advance during an improvement lr. the weather, with aircraft and artillery she wing activity. Greek bombers in the northern sector bombed Italian tr.,op concentrations. The Greeks report the capture of a fortified position westward of Pogradec. The Government spokesman stated that the Greeks have taken over fortifications in the Klisura region, including air-raid shelters cut from solid rock.
