The Greek radio stated: “/long the entire Driuos river sector, there has been a successful Greek advance of great importance and the Greeks are improving all their positions. Many prisoners have been taken, including officers. The Italians have not been permitted time to re-establish their lines and consolidate their positions ” According to latest reports from the Albanian front, the Greeks have accelerated their advance during an improvement lr. the weather, with aircraft and artillery she wing activity. Greek bombers in the northern sector bombed Italian tr.,op concentrations. The Greeks report the capture of a fortified position westward of Pogradec. The Government spokesman stated that the Greeks have taken over fortifications in the Klisura region, including air-raid shelters cut from solid rock. Much material and a number of tanft were captured or destroyed. The heavy fighting on the coastal sector north-east of Himara increased during New Year’s Day to a battle.
