Well-known Miner’s Death

FALL FROM UPPER STOREY OF HOTEL Per Press Association. WESTPORT, Jan. S. The death occurred in the Buller Hospital this morning of a well-known Buller miner and sportsman, Air. Andrew Nicholls, married, of Alillerton, following a fall from the upper storey of Cox’s Hotel, Westport, at 4 n.m. A native of the Old Country, Air. Nicholls took a prominent part in soccer as a representative and captain of the Buller soccer team, captaining Buller against Canterbury on English Park in 1914 for the Brown Shield. He was also prominent in bowling for a time, being president of the Buller Centre.
